A Geriatric Nurse is primarily responsible for assisting elderly patients. They help elderly patients with injuries such as falls, bumps, and bruises, as well as patients with Alzheimer’s and cancer. A major focus for a Geriatric Nurse is preventative care since these patients are more prone to spills and injury. A Geriatric Nurse will help administer medicine, draw up medical care plans, as well as educate the family on proper procedures.
